1. About the App

Quoted is an Android application that helps you discover inspirational quotes, explore moods and topics, save favorites, keep a personal journal, track streaks and achievements, receive optional reminders, use a home-screen widget, and share quote images to other apps.

The App is designed to work without creating a user account. Most of your personal data (such as journal entries and profile details) is stored on your device, not on our servers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use apps without parental consent) to use the App. If you are under the age required in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide (such as your display name or optional profile details) is accurate.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App except as permitted by law;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where law expressly allows;
• Use the App to violate any law or third-party rights;
• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically harvest quote content or author data from the App or our backend;
• Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
• Use the App to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content;
• Circumvent technical measures, rate limits, or access controls.

4. Content in the App

4.1 Quote and author content

Quotes, author information, insights, moods, trending topics, and related editorial content are provided for inspiration and personal reflection. This content may be sourced from our content systems (including Google Firebase Firestore) and may include material attributed to authors, thinkers, and public figures.

We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that every attribution, date, or interpretation is complete or error-free.

4.2 Your content (journal and profile)

You may create journal entries, choose an optional display name, profile photo, and other optional profile fields, and save favorites. You retain ownership of the original text you write in your journal.

By using features that store content on your device or send content outward (for example, sharing a quote image or opening a feedback form), you are responsible for what you submit or share.

You grant us a limited license to process your content only as needed to operate the App (for example, displaying your journal on your device, generating share images, or transmitting data you choose to send to third-party services such as Google Forms).

4.3 No professional advice

Quoted is for general inspiration and personal reflection only. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not rely on the App as a substitute for qualified professional help. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a qualified professional in your area.

5. Features and Service Description

The App may include, among other features:

Features may change, be added, or be removed over time. Some UI elements may be labeled as coming soon or partially implemented.

6. Optional Paid Features

Product plans may include premium or subscription features in the future. At the time of these Terms, in-app purchases or subscriptions may not be fully enabled in all builds.

If we introduce paid features:

• Pricing, billing period, and benefits will be shown before purchase through Google Play billing;
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Google Play account settings;
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play policies and applicable law.

Free features will remain available as described at the time of purchase.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The App integrates with or links to third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Google Firebase (content delivery, remote configuration, analytics, crash reporting, and related services);
• Google Play (distribution, in-app updates, and reviews);
• External websites opened in an in-app browser or your default browser (for example, feedback forms on Google Forms);
• Social platforms (for example, Instagram) when you choose to follow links or share content.

Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites, apps, or practices.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App in any unlawful manner;
• Harass, abuse, or harm others through shared content or feedback you submit;
• Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, Firestore data, or other users' devices;
• Interfere with the App's operation or impose unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The App's name, branding, design, software, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Quote texts and author attributions may be subject to third-party rights. Your license to use quote content is limited to personal use within the App and through permitted sharing features—not for republication as a competing database or commercial quote service.

Trademarks of third parties (including author names and social platform names) belong to their respective owners.

10. Feedback

If you submit feedback through our forms or other channels, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve the App without obligation to compensate you, unless otherwise required by law.

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Please read it carefully.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that content will always be available offline or online.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50 (OR LOCAL EQUIVALENT), IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Toon and Tools and its affiliates, officers, and employees from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or third-party rights.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

We may cease offering the App or terminate or suspend your access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.

16. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or through the Play Store listing.

Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India, unless applicable law grants you mandatory rights to bring claims in your home jurisdiction.

19. Google Play

If you downloaded the App from Google Play, you also agree to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App.
